Exile Digital Edition out! 🩸🦇
Plus my book with Games Omnivorous, Patreon, and the end of this newsletter
It’s Exile time baby
Hey all! As of last week, Exile’s digital edition is now available wherever you get your RPGs. Check out the new website for the game!
It’s been a long time coming for this release, and I am so excited that it’s finally available for the world to read and play. Crescent’s PDF is soon to follow, as are physical book editions in the summer.
I wrote a game for Games Omnivorous
If you’re into small-town-mystery-meets-ALIENS (one of my favorite genders frfr), you’ll probably love Games Omnivorous’ Brain Exploder—written by yours truly!
Brain Exploder is a system-agnostic module for use with weird small-town mystery games, such as Brindlewood Bay or External Containment Bureau.
Inspired by the likes of Twin Peaks and The Autopsy from Del Toro's Cabinet, Ema's interpretation of the Manifestus Omnivorous will speak to fans of small-town mystery and surrealism. As employees of the Sanitation Department for Classified Pets (SDCP), you must catch which of the seemingly-inconspicuous residents of a small town is actually a body-snatching Exocerebral Host—but that’s not the only thing you must deal with: As every local has their own dark secrets, which they wish to keep buried.Â
I’m revamping my Patreon
Patreon is a crucial tool for me to keep doing games professionally, and for the 2024 season I’ve come up with a few new ideas of what to do over there!
Book Club (open to everyone!): Starting this month, we’ll be picking a game to discuss and potentially play together. Everyone is welcome to join the discussion and play session via the Discord server, but Patrons get to vote on which game we’ll pick and get priority to join the session. This month’s poll is already up and includes Dialect, Moonlight on Roseville Beach, and Stewpot!
Monthly Game Previews: I’ll be posting at least 1 (somewhat-playable-at-your-own-risk) draft or excerpt of one of the projects I've been working on that month. Which comes in handy because I’ve got a *bunch* of stuff in the works.
Special Feature Video: On top of the regular previews and drafts I already post for all Patrons, I'm also going to be doing a special video once a month. This month’s feature is already out, and it’s a 2-hour deep dive into the Exile Beta (and how it compares to the final release) with none other than Sam D!
If you can support, it’s super appreciated. Also, Patreon accepts free subscribers as of late and I do public posts frequently, so feel free to check it out even if you don’t become a paid Patron :-)
I’m leaving Substack.
This is, above all, a huge hassle that I wish I didn’t have to go through. I like this platform’s tools and how easy it makes it for me to connect with you, but I cannot in good faith remain on a place that’s so openly and unapologetically into Protecting Nazis.
If you’re subscribed, you don’t need to do anything. I have already loaded up your contact into the new newsletter (hosted on Squarespace).
If you want to subscribe, just do so through the form on Exile’s website.
Catch you around!
